Oh boy do I have a special story for you guys today. This involves two acts of divine douchebaggery on one person by two deities. One by a horny sea god and the other by a angry war goddess.

So I will follow the story told by Ovid in his masterpiece Metamorphosis, you see there was this beautiful chick named Medusa and she was a priestess at the temple of Athena. Now because she was a beautiful woman, that meant the gods had a right to rape her since they can do whatever the fuck they want to do. Poseidon, lord of the sea, saw her in Athena's temple and decided that he wanted to get back at Athena for winning the contest that gave her patronage of Athens. So yeah, Poseidon rapes Medusa and that's when Athena comes.
They don't call me Earthshaker for nothing. (Yes I know this is a painting of Amphitrite and Poseidon so sue me)
Anyway you'd think Athena would avenge her priestess' defilement, but no Athena was mad at Medusa for getting raped in her temple. So you know what Athena does? She ignores Poseidon and turns Medusa into the ugly monster that turned men into stone. And to add up to this she turns Medusa's sisters also into gorgons, man let this be a lesson to all you girls who want to be priestesses of Athena, make sure you that you get raped outside of the temple or you'll end up like Medusa.
That'll teach not to get raped in my temple.
